How OfferPlaybook Makes Money
We think it matters that you know exactly how this site makes money and how that does or does not affect what we write. So here it is, plainly.
The Short Version
OfferPlaybook earns a commission when you sign up with a betting operator through a link on our site. The commission is paid by the operator. It does not cost you anything. It does not affect what we recommend.
The Longer Version
How affiliate commissions work
Betting operators run affiliate programmes. When a site like ours sends a new customer to an operator, the operator pays us a fee — usually a fixed amount per registration (called CPA, or cost per acquisition). We are paid by the operator, not by you.
The affiliate link itself is a tracked URL. When you click it, the operator can see that you arrived from OfferPlaybook. If you register and complete the qualifying deposit, we earn the commission.
We work with operators in two ways
- Partner operators — we have an active affiliate agreement. These are clearly labelled on our site with a small "Partner" tag. We may earn a commission on registrations from these operators.
- Non-partner operators — we write about these operators too. We do not earn a commission if you sign up with them. We include them when their offer is genuinely worth covering.
We will always tell you which is which.
Does this affect what we recommend?
No. Our editorial process works like this: we assess each welcome offer on its actual terms — the wagering requirement, the minimum odds, the withdrawal conditions, the time limit. We use these criteria consistently whether or not an affiliate relationship exists. If a non-partner offer is better than a partner offer, we say so. If a partner offer is poor value, we say so.
We do not accept payment to improve a ranking, to change an editorial rating, or to write positive copy about an offer we would otherwise rate poorly. If that ever changes, we will say so prominently.
Who we work with (Ontario)
We only link to operators that are registered with the AGCO (Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario) and appear on iGaming Ontario's list of authorised operators. If an operator loses its Ontario licence, we remove the link immediately.
Who we work with (UK)
We only link to operators that hold a current licence from the UK Gambling Commission. You can verify any UK operator's licence at gamblingcommission.gov.uk.
What happens if I use a link but don't like the operator?
Nothing happens to you. The tracking link is used only for commission attribution. If you choose not to register, if you register and the offer is not what you expected, or if you change your mind at any point, none of that affects your relationship with us in any way.
A note on prices and terms
We make reasonable efforts to keep offer details current. However, operators change their terms frequently and without notice. Always verify the current terms directly on the operator's website before depositing. That's not just boilerplate — it matters.
